As some of them said, run your hot wires directly to the battery that is to minimise the noise of various electrical noises (statics) from some electrical components. Eg; Alternator, horn, etc... Also, make sure you mount your antenna as high as possible (If you can) and make sure you make a good grounding of the antenna mount to the body of you car, this will serve as a "Ground Plane" resulting the best antenna performance in both transmit and receive. But before you use your CB radio, make sure you get an ohmeter and check first that there is NO continuity between the center wire and the braided wire of your coax cable. If that is good, it's time for you to measure the SWR of your antenna ( You will be needing an appropiate SWR meter for that) just for you to make sure that your antenna is correct and is tuned for your CB radio. (1-1.5 SWR reading is ideal) If all is good after that, you're on the air. Hope this help you.
Good luck! 73s....... over.

Run a Hotwire to the battery off to the side of the fender walls and mount an antenna to the roof. Then mount your cb. Maybe Mexico don't regulate cb's but I don't like people being able to hog mine all the time either. Follow the link at the bottom for a way better explanation.

You will want to run your hot wire directly to your battery (this will keep most of the engine noise from coming through your radio) just make sure you run a in line fuse that is no larger then a 5 amp fuse and it would be best to find some kind of way to insulate the wire this will also help with noise reduction then run your ground wire as short as you can to the chaise of your vehicle now mount the radio and have fun.

Mount your antennae first, run the wire to the CB, then mount your CB, ATTACH THE ANTENNAE TO THE CB FIRST, then add you mic, then add a power source then enjoy your CB.

Don't waste your time with a CB, here's two reasons.
1. CB's are amplitude modulating and are greatly affected by the sun's solar storms.
2. the FCC limits CB output to 4 watts, however in Mexico there are no limits that are enforced, CB's down here can run 1000 Watts amps and completely jam up a channel all the way to canada.

An FRS radio is FM, frequency modulated and is not affected by sun storms or atmospheric skip. and is a much better way to commuincate.
