I have recently bought a CB radio but i don’t want to install it in my car or buy a portable hand held one. All i need is a power source but all of the ones that i found are too expensive. Does anybody know a cheap power source for it.

Computer power supply from an old PC.
if it uses ac you might try a power inverter to convert 12 volt to 120.
Walcott CB Sales has a web site that may help you. Are you wanting to walk around with this or use in home. The reason I ask is your antenna is going to be the next thing to figure out. There are different styles for the application you will use.
Radio Shack has 13.8 volt power supplies – you will need one that can supply at least 5 amps:

Sorry, none of them are cheap.
What i did for one of my radios is shop around at different thrift stores and found a AC/DC transformer w/ 12 volts, 2 amps. If you don’t want to have to wait until you find something by chance like that, you will just have to pick one up at RadioShack. They’ve got the necessary power supplies, they’re just a little more expensive.
