both sites are pretty reasonable.
Radio Shack or Wal Mart for new, yard sale or flea market for used. Also you might give e-bay a try.
I would try a truck stop or on-line.
walmart may have the cheapest radios but they suck.
cobra 25 is probably what you are looking for – its a decent radio. the 29 is a little better and has a much much better re-sale value
the small radios like the 18 can’t be turned up and most likely aren’t putting out the full 4 watts
so a 25 or 29 and a Lil Wil or Wilson 1000 and you’ll be set
try rummage sales and second hand stores – I picked up a grant xl for under $20 – its currently my back-up back-up radio
